Mr Emmanuel Fatai Audu- Permanent Secretary

Mr. Emmanuel Fatai Audu was born on February, 3rd1968 to the family of Chief Kenneth Oseni Audu and Mrs. Christiana Enazuo Audu of Igarra, Akoko-Edo Local Government Area of Edo State. He attended Bright Star Nursery & Primary School, Bajulaiye, Lagos and Hope Children Primary School, Old Ojo Road, Ajegunle for his primary education between 1975 and 1979. Thereafter, he attended Awori Ajeromi GrammerSchool, Ojo and Baptist Academy Obanikoro, Lagos where he obtained the Ordinary Level Certificate in 1986.

He was admitted into the Lagos State University, Ojo in 1986 where he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree Programme in Fisheries in 1990. He also obtained a Master Degree in Public Administration (MPA) and Fisheries (MSc. Fisheries) in 2002 and 2020 respectively.

Mr. Audu joined the Lagos State Public Service as Fisheries Officer II in December, 1994 and rose through the rank to the post of Director of Fisheries in 2021. He was subsequently deployed as the Director, Agricultural Training Institute, Araga Epe where he coordinated the Lagos Agripreneurship Programme which is targeted at training potential agripreneurs in agriculture towards increased food security and job creation. In recognition of his hardwork and capabilities, Mr. Audu was appointed Permanent Secretary on 31st January, 2024 and deployed to the Ministry of Agriculture.

A very committed Officer, Mr. Audu was awarded the Lagos State Productivity Merit Award in 2007 for productivity, hard work, discipline, dedication and selfless service. In 2022, The Fisheries Department under his leadership was awarded the Best Department Overall in the Ministry of Agriculture.

He is a member of the Fisheries Society of Nigeria and his hobbies are playing board games (chess and scrabble), football and reading novels.

Mr. Audu, a Christian, is married to Mrs. Joyce OmolereAudu and blessed with Children.
