MR. SUNDAY BAMISAYE ONI – Director, Planning, Research, Statistics & Data Management

Sunday Bamisaye-Oni was born on 12th April, 1959 to the family of Pa John and Victoria Asaolu Oni of Ile- Oloye compound, Isiwo Street, Ilupeju- Ekiti in Oye Local Government, Ekiti State Nigeria.

He had his Primary School education in Methodist Primary Schools both in Ilupeju Ekiti and Agbeni , Ibadan. He attended Wesley College Ibadan, College of Education Ikere Ekiti. He has his B.SC in Economics from University of Ibadan in 1987 and PGD in Computer Science from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta in 2000. He has attended several trainings in the course of his career.

Bamisaye-Oni working experience started at the Obafemi Owode Local Government and Ijebu Igbo Local Government areas of Ogun State where he taught as a Primary and Secondary School teacher between 1976-1979 and 1983-1984 respectively. He worked as Administrative Officer in Ondo State Civil Service, Service Matters Department after a successful ASCON conducted recruitment process between February 1989 and October 1989.

He left the Civil Service to the Private Sector when he joined AfriBank/ IBWA in October 1989 as an Executive Assistant and rose to become Principal Manager. He later joined Integrated Homes Savings and Loans Ltd in November, 2011 as the General Manager and Chief Operating Officer.

Bamisaye-Oni joined the Lagos State Civil Service in 2016 as a Deputy Director. He was deployed to the Ministry of Agriculture where he assumed the post of the Head of the Policy, Planning Research and Statistics Department.

He has functioned effectively as Director of Planning since then and successfully coordinated and implemented the activities of the Department in the area of policies relating to Agriculture, generation of Agricultural data and utilization, budget preparation, monitoring of projects and coordination of stakeholders in the Agricultural sector.

Bamisaye-Oni successfully coordinated the hosting of the maiden edition of the Food Security Summit in 2016 which formed the bedrock for some policy changes in Agric. Business and contributed immensely to the successful take off and implementation of Lake Rice Project in the State since December 2016.
